How it all started....
My first memories of sewing are standing by my grandmother’s dining table which she had set up with her sewing machine, and watching her run up a dress for me. Later on, watching my mum, and at some point, having a go… I made my school ball dress, got a sewing machine for my 21st, started quilting and more recently made the challenging move to working with leather and vinyl… and I haven’t looked back.
Who is Scarlet Magpie?
Scarlett was a black and tan Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who spent her early days in the craft room, curled up on a pile of fabric, or on one memorable occasion as a puppy eating a bottle of glitter.
Maggie, aka Magpie, is a tricolour Cavalier who arrived as a puppy when Scarlett was 8, much to her disgust. After several days of cold war, Maggie won Scarlett over and the two became firm friends.
Scarlett crossed rainbow bridge in early 2024, about the time Scarlet Magpie was born.
